Happy Monday & Happy Fall! One of my favorite seasons weather-related aside, it is one of my favorite seasons in fashion as well. Layers after layers, boots galore, and a personal obsession with outerwear, I’m all for it. One accessory for the season that I’ve been really into lately is scarves: All shapes and sizes. And with the colder weather approaching, I love a good scarf that can keep me warm! So in today’s post, I’m sharing one way to style your scarf to look extra chic! Easy peasy, on top. When it comes to any type of accessory there are two qualities I’m seeking. One, the level of craftsmanship; and two, and the environmental requirements that are necessary for this day and age. Amédée Paris’s Signature hand-roll finished square scarf completely embodies this. Screen printed by French artisans. these scarves are 100% ethically-made & sourced Merino wool from New Zealand. Dimensions: 135cm x 135cm and can be styled many different ways, but a recent favorite of mine is the one-shoulder belted scarf look. It looks strong with a structured blazer or wide-leg pant, but it is the cinch of the belt that seals the deal if you will.

This look has an emphasis on masculinity, but just like any outfit, I love putting a twist on things, and the juxtaposition of feminine vs. masculine is something I do quite often in terms of my style. To complement with the scarf as well as bring a feminine touch to this look, I went with red strappy sandals and a couple of hairpins to soften up the more boyish side to this outfit. I love burgundy/maroon mixed with navy blue for fall, so I opted a beautiful white crossbody bag from Unitude that had hints of blue suede on the handle that goes well with the belt. Enjoying the last few weeks of summer before fall. One color I love to wear during the warmer months is white, especially accessories as they look crisp, clean and oh, so chic… it’s quite another story when the first set of leaves begin to fall. But you’ll be seeing a lot more of white this season! Which is why in today’s post, I’m sharing 5 ways to style a classic white crossbody bag. The twist? I’m styling both summer and fall outfits - even transitional weather appropriate because let’s face it, that’s also always a challenge, with only one purse and in one color. White. First look screams Indian Summer. It’s hot one minute and cool the next, one needs a good transitional piece! And imagine the multiple ways of styling either the shorts or blazer separately. To keep the look with minimal style, I wore nude mules with a low heel that would give me just enough length and statement earrings to make the short suit more luxurious. Instead of a loud, noisy bag, I styled it with the white crossbody that definitely polishes this look overall.

This is probably my most favorite look out of the five. It’s bold, sexy and fiercely intense which is definitely one style I can embody :) A recent trend that will be booming during the transitional period between summer and fall is ‘sailoring’. A technique in tailoring, it’s when one uses the lace or straps from shoes to hem long pants. I’m wearing a gorgeous pair from Cecilia New York. Classic black and white, lucite straps, and wire wrap around to fit any ankle to give a flattering look. In this case, a fun twist on hemming. I also styled an oversized men’s blazer but tying the front two slits together to give a tiny cinch to the boxy fit. And tell me a black and white outfit that isn’t chic?!

Another black and white look, but with a twist. The perfect white blazer, but invert layering. It’s a classic look with different variations of style. I’d typically pair these wide leg jeans with the blazer and some dainty shoes but in this look I went for a more rough, tomboy edge pairing it with sneakers, pulled hair and pearl details to keep a bit of feminine style in the mix as well. I wanted to show that this crossbody bag can also work for more hard, non-delicate looks. How did I do? ;)

I’ve styled this dress before during the wintertime (!!) you can check it out here but I wanted to wear this again during the warmer season to show you it can be worn all year round. That, and the fact that this white crossbody bag goes very well with bold print dresses such as this one. I love how the small white dots from the dress goes so well with the white accessories. I think this look is stylish but understated, can be worn on so many different occasions.

Last but not least, a totally 90s-inspired look! I’d say this outfit is a mix of ‘Clueless’ and Prada references. This newspaper print tee I’ve worn during New York Fashion Week (see here) and it definitely reminds me of that Dior dress Carrie wore in Sex & the City. And I can’t seem to get enough of bucket hats and combat boots lately. They’re my ultimate favorite combo. I styled this look with a sleek ribbed skirt to keep it slightly sexy but not over the top. Definitely could wear this any day of the week and I wouldn’t be mad about it at all. Which look is your favorite look from today’s post?

Peplum Midi Dress

Happy Monday! Starting the week in one of my new favorite dresses that’ll definitely be worn through the fall season! It’s everything that is trending; in terms of pattern, color and cut - it’s the dress that keeps giving. It’s the perfect attire for an evening meeting or an event where the dress code is not casual and you don’t want to show up in jeans. A fresh and modern look that's the personification of elegance: the peplum midi dress from Who What Wear™. Perfectly proportioned sleeves are echoed in the extra-deep ruffled peplum hemline; an eye-catching angled geometric pattern adds the must-have hue of the year. I cinched my waist with an embossed belt to give a stronger silhouette. You can wear this dress with a blazer/jacket, and even layering in in the fall with a cool cape/vest or black long-sleeved top underneath.

To give me some height, I wore my favorite pair of black mary janes. They are made in Korea by a really chic shoe brand called Lower. The top handle bag goes well with the shoes, and the belt is a deep navy blue, which brings contrast to the overall black within the accessories. Lastly, I styled this look with big statement earrings. I did not list them, they’re from H&M but cannot find them online nor could I find similar looking ones. Thanks for stopping by! Graphic Design and Fashion Flowers mixed with Polka Dots

When I first received this polka dot blazer from SHEIN I thought to style it with a pair of jeans. One, because I'm a total jean girl. I literally wear them almost every day, (which is funny because when I was a child, I would be wearing anything but, the reason being... I hated them!) and two, it was what first came to mind in terms of styling the blazer. But when we got our first really nice day here in NYC, we're talking summer-like temps, my skin was rather excited to get in a good dose of Vitamin D. So I went with a Levi's denim mini skirt and also a simple graphic 'But first, let's cuddle' tee.

Accessories included are a Daniel Wellington watch in silver and black, a classic I wear often, black satin ribbon as a belt, to which I'd only recommend doing this with a piece that already fits quite snug to the body, as this type of belt alone won't hold up other loosely fitted things. The Ego Ruben pull ring detail ankle boot in black patent is not just for fall and winter seasons. If you're a true New Yorker, I guarantee you still have a good pair of black boots for the spring and summer seasons as well. We do tend to wear a lot of black, and this includes footwear during the hotter months. The Mad-Style rock and roll crossbody bag also brings in the edginess to this outfit along with the boots. (Which btw, I'm in love with the heel shape and pull ring details) My earrings are also similar to the hoop shape and go well with the polka dot blazer.

Never Too Late to Apologize

It's never too late to apologize. And it's never too late to forgive. Trust me, I wouldn't have survived through half the things I've been through without forgiveness, and yes, owning up to when I've done wrong. But sometimes saying sorry can be quite difficult for people, myself included... especially if it's something I really effed up on. Though I am a firm believer in growing a pair and when it comes down to it, being really brave. Just do it, because if it's someone you care about, you got to be willing to be the one to jump first. And put yourself in the other person's shoes: Would you want it to be this way with you? I know it's easier said than done but if whatever the issue is is still on your mind, I think you got to look into it. In today's post, I'm talking about the do's and don'ts when it comes to apologizing.

Don't apologize for someone else's feelings! There's nothing that irks me more when I hear, "I'm sorry you're mad; I'm sorry you feel this way; etc;) This is not a form of an apology and is just condescending. What could be a better approach? Apologizing for your own actions and attitude. For example, "I'm sorry I was rude," is an apology that takes ownership. Be specific about what you did wrong. Saying, "I'm sorry for whatever made you upset," just isn't going to cut it. Even if you do make your claim, don't slide in an excuse with it.

"I'm sorry I was rude but I was irritated," means you're not really sorry. You feel justified for the way you acted and you expect to be excused from your behavior! One way to remember this is that when you say, "I'm sorry, but..." you're really just a sorry butt. That's like meeting halfway except it's only a quarter ways, maybe even less. That doesn't make any sense, right?! And this isn't going to have anyone want to forgive you. However, asking for forgiveness when you apologize is a humble request that can rebuild a relationship. But don't expect someone to forgive you right away, depending on the situation, it can take time. Just be grateful when you do receive it, I always am! Lastly, don't expect a reciprocal apology either. You have to own your part of it and move on. If you do get through the brutal, "I'm sorry, will you forgive me?" it's best to make the next step and ask if there's anything one can do to make it right/better, etc;.
